Staying Focused on the Goal

Passage: Proverbs 2:1-5

The Goal: To know God and to live a life that is pleasing to Him. (v.5)

4 Ways to stay focused on the goal:

  1. Receive the Word (vv. 1-2)
    1. How to be prepared to hear God's Word corporately:
      1. Get a good night's rest
      2. Be early
      3. Be active
  2. Memorize the Word (v. 1)
  3. Pray in accordance with the Word (v. 3)
  4. Meditate on the Word (v. 4)
    1. 2 types:
      1. occasional (ex. Ps. 8:3-4)
      2. deliberate
