II. The announcement of Messiah's birth and the grandeur of the God-man (1:31-37)
     A. (v. 31-33) The proclamation of the Messiah's complete humanity and divinity
        A. Jesus is proclaimed the Son of God (1:32)
        B. Jesus fulfills the Davidic convenant as the Messiah King whose reign and kingdom will have no end (1:32-33)
     B. (v. 34-37) Proclamation of the Messiah's holy divinity

3 Things in Luke 1:35-36:

1. Not a natural conception
2. This will be accomplished by the Holy Spirit
3. The virgin conception is to protect the Son of God's holiness and divinity

Importance of the Virgin Birth:

1. It is the sign which accompanies and indicates the mystery of the incarnation of the Son.
2. Jesus' birth to His resurrection is two backends that signify Jesus' life is different than all other humanity
3. The supernatural character of Jesus and the gospel
4. The virgin birth is a sign of God's judgment on human nature
5. The virgin birth is a sign that Jesus Christ is a new beginning
